As we approach the end of the season I thought I’d give a quick update on how various teams are doing, especially off of the back of the U16’s fantastic County Cup win yesterday.

Also over the weekend our U12 Juniors secured the EKYL division 4 title, not only with games in hand but by winning every game to date. Another great achievement and well done to Simon, the players and all those involved with the team!!!

Sticking to competitive football….

Our U13 EKYL side look to have confirmed 3rd in division 1 with a chance of finishing second.

Our U14 KYL team are currently top and should also secure a top three finish and our U14 EKYL team also have a chance of finishing 3rd.

Our U15 KYL are also top and should at least secure 2nd and our U15 EKYL team are also chasing a top three slot in division 2.

Our U16 EKYL team have secured 4th in div 1 and may well finish 3rd.

Our U18 KYL team are also chasing a runners up slot.

To have so many teams knocking on the door of top three finishes in their respective leagues is fantastic and, with a few more games left I wish you all every success.

Obviously it’s difficult to gauge the development or succes of the mini minor teams as there are no league tables to refer to but, being involved in U11’s and U9’s and speaking to both Graham Jordan ( U6’s and U7’s ) and john Ebdon (U8’s and U10’s ) I’m confident the younger part of the club is also in good health and looking to continue with the high standards the older teams are setting.

I also appreciate that, with 23 teams on the books and having been involved now for around 12 years, there are always seasons which can be more challenging for a variety of different reasons but that the effort and commitment put in by coaches and assistants still has to remain at a high level.                    Although your league position may not be as you’d have hoped your hard work and dedication is just as important and not gone unnoticed.

So, good luck to everyone over the next few games and thank you to you all for the hard work you’ve put in over the season.
